This is an experimantal illustration animation project.
I was born in China, a country with relatively conservative education in gender, and people got few opportunities to learn about gender issues. However, gender issue is a widespread problem faced by people in today’s society, while it is also an intractable and hot topic worth discussing in our life. Therefore, I create this experimental illustration stop-motion animation to warn the importance of gender education, in which the simple process of flying a kite displays the general rule of development of the relationship between men and women, and implies the long process of love from the beginning to the end.
In my works creation, I tried to utilize collage and texture making, did a lot of experiments, and used mixed media. The overall style of my work is artistic and experimental, which was deeply influenced by the impressionist Monet, Mageng and Fauvism Matisse. As for the characters, I used the thick and bright colors, simple and full modeling to show the characteristics of women, which is in sharp contrast with the kites symbolizing men, while indicating the weight of men and women’s deep love.
